Maria Kramar was born in Bratislava, Slovakia but has lived a large part of her life in Sweden, latterly living in Germany.
She graduated as an architect in Gothenburg, but since 1999 has been dedicated to furthering her career as a sculptor, exhibiting widely all over Europe, and also Vietnam.
Maria's impressive marble sculpture Uomo (Man) is now on permanent loan in Kitty's Garden. A three-metre tall semi-abstract work in totemic shape and height, carved out of Portuguese limestone called Lioz, is a most appropriate addition (joining many other totemic sculptures in the Garden).
