Måd Demår is a Swedish sculptor who, after three years in art school, trained as a stone sculptor in Tengenenge Sculptor Community in Zimbabwe, where she lived and her skills were developed by renowned sculptors such as Bernard Matemera and Henry Munyardzi.
She has continued working in stone and also further trained both in Sweden and abroad.
Måd often uses other materials such as metal, wood, clay, plaster, ice... She is interested in the tension that arises between the different materials in any one sculpture.
Måd's contribution to the Sculpture Garden, the marble and steel "Going it Alone", an ant's escape from the herd, is an analogy of her own path in life.
Måd is also a popular singer in Sweden.
